Presentation of the series 🇯🇲
The film is called "Yardie" and tells the story of a young Jamaican boy named D (played by Aml Ameen) who grows up on the streets of Kingston, Jamaica. After the death of his older brother, he is sent on a mission to London by local gang leader King Fox (Sheldon Shepherd) to deliver a shipment of cocaine. In London, D meets a woman named Yvonne (Shantol Jackson) who reminds him of his childhood love and gives him hope for a new life. However, as he tries to integrate into London's Jamaican community, he finds himself caught up in a gang war between King Fox and Rico (Stephen Graham), a rival kingpin. D must face his demons from the past and make a difficult decision between love and loyalty to his community. The film explores themes of family, community and the difficult choices one must make to cope in a world that doesn't always give us the best options.
